ITINERARY

November 11 – 21, 2019 


Day 1 - Monday, November 11th: Washington (IAD) to Tanzania via Emirates Airlines with a plane change in Dubai. New release movies and meals served aloft.

Day 2 – Tuesday, November 12th Arrive in Tanzania: Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, we will be greeted, assisted with luggage and taken by private coach to our superior first- class accommodations. Dinner and overnight in Dar es Salaam. 

Day 3 – Wednesday, November 13th Zanzibar: Breakfast at hotel. Morning ferry to Zanzibar. Upon arrival we will be greeted, assisted with luggage and taken by private coach to the Double Tree Inn on Nungwi Beach. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Thursday, November 14th Spice Tour: Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, we will enjoy the Spice Tour visiting the Zanzibar country side about a half hour driving time from the historic Stone Town. You will be briefed regarding the growth, gardening, and use of various type of spices, tropical fruits and root crops. We will have the opportunity to smell, taste, and sample some of the spices. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. 

Day 5 – Friday, November 15th Dolphin Tour or Prison Island Tour: Breakfast at the hotel. Dolphin Tour - A full day excursion with private guide will take us to the southern part of Zanzibar. Once there, you take a motorized boat to reach the dolphin zone. Here we can swim with the friendly dolphins or enjoy the boat ride. Time is given for admiring the wonderful coral reef, various colored fish, various marine creatures, and snorkeling. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight. 

Prison Island Tour - This morning we will take an excursion to Prison Island which lies about 30 minutes by boat from the Zanzibar Island. The island was once used by an Arab slave trader to contain the more troublesome slaves he had brought from the African mainland to prevent their escape before shipping them to the Arabian purchasers, or for auctioning in Zanzibar slave trade market. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Saturday, November 16th Zanzibar & Nairobi: Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we have the opportunity to enjoy the beach. Afternoon transfer to the Zanzibar Airport for flight back to Nairobi. We are met with private transfer to the Tamarind Tree Hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 7 – Sunday, November 17th Nairobi & Masai Mara, Kenya: Breakfast at the Hotel. We will take a short bus ride to the Kimbo PEFA church. There we are the guests of Pastor James Wesonga who will deliver the Morning Services and a dynamic Swahili music worship. Afternoon transfer by plane to the Masai Mara National Park and on to the deluxe Safari Camp for dinner and overnight. 

Day 8 – Monday, November 18th Masai Mara, Kenya: Breakfast at the Camp. The Masai Mara is known for its abundance of wildebeest, zebra, antelope, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion, cheetah, black rhino and much more. Morning Safari Drive. Lunch prepared for us at Safari Camp. Afternoon Safari Drive and return to the Safari Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 – Tuesday, November 19th: Breakfast at the Camp. Morning Safari Drive with lunch. Afternoon Safari Drive and return to the Camp for dinner and overnight. Optional: Sunrise Hot Air Balloon safari available on this day.

Day 10 – Wednesday, November 20th Masai Mara, Nairobi: Breakfast at the Camp. Morning Safari Drive with lunch. Afternoon transfer to the Airport for flight back to Nairobi. Upon arrival, we are met and transferred by private coach to the Nairobi Airport for our evening flight home.

Day 11 – Thursday, November 21st: Welcome Home!

AIR: Departing Washington to Dar es Salaam and Nairobi to Washington. Flights are subject to airline schedules and may change without notice. 

GROUND/TRANSFERS: Transfers and ground transportation to\from airport/hotel by Deluxe Air-conditioned motor coaches. Land Only passengers responsible for transportation to and from airport/hotel.

HOTELS: Superior First Class hotels throughout. Priced on the basis of two persons sharing room with private bath and shower. A limited number of single rooms are available at regular supplement prices.

MEALS: Breakfast & dinner daily.

SIGHTSEEING: As and wherever indicated on the itinerary, including the services of English speaking guides as well as entrance fees to all places of interest listed in your itinerary.

PORTERAGE: Fees and charges for the porterage of one piece of baggage per person not to exceed 50lbs, in connection with all transfers and at airports throughout the entire itinerary is included. An overnight bag may also be carried, provided it remains in the possession of the passenger at all times. This bag, although carried personally, is considered part of your total luggage allowance.

SERVICE CHARGES AND TAXES: Service charges as required by hotel managements and taxes as imposed by national and/or local governments and/or governments and/or administrations (wherever these are normally added to the bill.) on the date of this brochure are included.

VISAS: Single-entry visa is required for Kenya and must
be purchased independently. You can purchase visa online at this website, the
cost of single entry is 51USD. http://evisa.go.ke. Tanzania visas must be
purchased individually on arrival by each passenger. A Tanzania visa is 100USD.

CANCELLATION POLICY: The $500 per person deposit is nonrefundable. Deposits and other payments exceeding the $500 per person are refundable in full up to sixty days prior to departure. After this date, refunds for unused accommodations and services will be limited to the amount received from and/or credited by all carriers, sightseeing operators and hotels.

MEDICAL: Consult your physician six weeks or more prior departing regarding vaccination and travel medication. Yellow fever vaccine is required when you travel from one African nation to another. Therefore, you are required to have a yellow fever vaccine for this tour. For all other vaccine questions and medication, please consult with your physician or a travel clinic at least one month prior to your travel date.
